Live to Work

line

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
- Ephesians 2:10

From the beginning, God intended for us to work. Work was actually the first blessing He bestowed upon mankind, yet we so often try to separate God from our work. We strive to separate and compartmentalize our “spiritual” and “secular” lives, keeping God our of our workplace and our work.

But what if all of life matters to God? What if He is there with you on your laptop while you’re designing a website? Or in the cafe as you prepare espresso? Or with you while you strain you body as you pour a cement sidewalk?

The first image of God in the bible is of Him working, and he created us in His own image. We were made to work, and we were made to work in partnership with God. Focus on doing good work – work that fits you, helps others, and glorifies God.

  1. Very well written, and a good thought. We should be doing all to the glory of God, even the most menial of tasks. Nothing is too small to do well.
